Trolls

Synopsis: After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy (Anna Kendrick), the happiest Troll ever born, and the overly-cautious, curmudgeonly Branch (Justin Timberlake) set off on a journey to rescue her friends. Their mission is full of adventure and mishaps, as this mismatched duo try to tolerate each other long enough to get the job done.

My Review:

This was a really cute movie. It had really cute animation (although the noses were weird), the colours were really bright, and the characters were sweet. The soundtrack was really cute, with great song selection but it did remind me at times of Pitch Perfect. I was surprised with the story line. I thought it was going to be a whole adventure movie about Poppy and Branch going to rescue the trolls but instead it was much more. There was a love story among both the troll characters (slightly weaker) and the bergens. Also, there was a story about the bergens finding their own source of happiness rather than eating trolls for it. I liked the reference at the beginning to the original troll dolls which was very clever. Overall, a cute movie for kids and enjoyable for adults.
