Justice League Dark

Synopsis: Batman forms Justice League Dark, a new team of dark arts specialists that is led by John Constantine. The team must unravel the mystery of a supernatural plague and contend with the rising, powerful villainous forces behind the siege.

My Review:

This movie was very much a building of the main members of the Justice League Dark (although I don't think there will be anymore movies with this team). I feel that the movie lacked a strong story (villain wasn't in it enough) and instead it was more of a team origin story. We are introduced to Zantana and Constantine whom I"m sure many are already familiar with based on other DC movies and TV shows. Even Jason Blood/ Etrigan the Demon is a somewhat familiar character but none the less it was cool to see his backstory. I wasn't very familiar with Boston Brand/Deadman or the Swamp Thing (who wasn't in it very much) so it was interesting to learn about their backstories. Seeing all the different type of magic at play was neat and it was funny watching Batman's reaction to it all. It definitely showed that in a world of superheroes, there are still threats that the Justice League need help with.
