Synopsis:On a routine journey through space to a new home, two passengers, sleeping in suspended animation, are awakened 90 years too early when their ship malfunctions. As Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) face living the rest of their lives on board, with every luxury they could ever ask for, they begin to fall for each other, unable to deny their intense attraction... until they discover the ship is in grave danger. With the lives of 5000 sleeping passengers at stake, only Jim and Aurora can save them all.
I RATE THIS MOVIE 6 OUT OF 10.
My Review:
This was an entertaining movie. The concept of being stranded in space where something is going wrong isn't a new one but what sets this movie apart is the world on board the ship is so intricate. All the different comfort/lifestyle features on the ship are very neat and the cinematography was gorgeous. My first thought when the ship was experiencing issues (and based on what I've seen in the trailers) was that they prematurely sent the ship out to space with problems and they hoped to wake up particular passengers that had certain skills to fix the ship as it was travelling in space. However, this wasn't the case and the actual cause of the malfunctions (and the subsequent fixing of those problems) was a bit underwhelming. In the end the character interactions between Chris Pratt (Jim) and Jennifer Lawrence's (Aurora) characters (who had a good chemistry) and the actual time in the ship is what really made the movie worthwhile
