Synopsis: The true story of Pfc. Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), who won the Congressional Medal of Honor despite refusing to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds. Doss was drafted and ostracized by fellow soldiers for his pacifist stance but went on to earn respect and adoration for his bravery, selflessness and compassion after he risked his life -- without firing a shot -- to save 75 men in the Battle of Okinawa.

I GIVE THIS MOVIE 7 OUT OF 10.

My Review:

This was a really interesting movie. Andrew Garfield plays a charming, goofy grinning Desmond Doss who is a conscientious objector and pacifist who won't pick up a weapon or attack another individual. He does a great job portraying Doss as someone who no matter what won't back down from his beliefs or strong morals. That level of conviction was inspiring and quite impressive. Also, his feat of saving the lives of 75 men was incredibly impressive. The movie does a good job portraying the horrors of war and just the relentless action the American soldiers faced during WWII against the Japanese.
