I RATE THIS MOVIE 7 OUT OF 10.
My Review:
This was a really smart alien movie. It wasn't about fighting off an alien force like most alien movies but instead focused on a really current issues about trying to understand one another (after all not everything is about conquest, dominance, and war). The aliens were an interesting design concept and the entire cinematography was well done (some really beautiful wide angle shots). Also, the movie brought up the fact that as a species, the human race isn't united despite the fact that we are all humans. Amy Adams (Louise) and Jeremy Renner (Ian) work really well together but it is really Amy Adams who steals the show. She demonstrates intelligence, vulnerability, and wisdom. There is a great twist at the end which was really enjoyable.
