Synopsis:Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all of the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him -- as well as everyone around him -- as the walls between his compartments shatter.
I RATE THIS MOVIE 6 OUT OF 10.
My Review:
James McAvoy does a great job making each personality distinct from the others and the switch between personalities is fascinating, yet subtle to watch. I was hoping to see more of the personalities have a substantial presence in the movie but the three that were present were interesting enough. The movie is a typical captive movie with the captives (Casey being one of them played by Anya Taylor-Joy) trying to figure out why they're there and how to escape. The twist at the end wasn't really incredible though it was interesting to see that the movie connected to another Shyamalan movie.
