The Goddess created mages by shaping the Earth in her image. Mages in turn honoured the Goddess by creating humans. The Goddess had a brother who was envious of her creations so he created misreaves in his own image from the darkness. However, since they weren’t made from the Earth that had to rely on feeding off energy to survive. Mages and misreaves shared the Earth’s energy until a curse prevented misreaves from feeding off the Earth’s energy.
