Synopsis:Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Capt. Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) feels the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost sailors led by his old nemesis, the evil Capt. Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle. Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it, he must forge an uneasy alliance with a brilliant and beautiful astronomer (Kaya Scodelario) and a headstrong young man in the British navy (Brenton Thwaites).

I RATE THIS MOVIE 7 OUT OF 10.

My Review:

This movie had all the good parts from the previous films, funny Jack Sparrow moments, good ship battles, a quest, strong female character, an inexperienced yet loving young hero, and an interetsing supernatural villian. The film also had a lot of nods to the previous films which kept the continuity of the series (unlike in the last film). Where this filmed lacked was with a strong villain, and stronger leads than Kaya and Brenton. Javier Barden as Capt. Salazar unfortunately did not have the same effect Geoffrey Rush's character Barbosa had from the first film, despite both playing ghostly type villains.
