Synopsis: Diane (Diane Keaton) is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage, Vivian (Jane Fonda) enjoys her men with no strings attached, Sharon (Candice Bergen) is still working through her decades-old divorce, and Carol's (Mary Steenburgen) marriage is in a slump after 35 years. The lives of these four lifelong friends are turned upside down after reading the infamous "50 Shades of Grey," catapulting them into a series of outrageous life choices.
I RATE THIS MOVIE 6.5 OUT OF 10.
My Review:
This movie is targeted towards an older audience (not that a younger movie goer wouldn't enjoy it but an older movie goer would relate to it more). Also, the movie is suited for a female audience as well. It was enjoyable to watch these women, who remain close friends thanks to a book club tradition, deal with the struggles of relationships as an older woman and showing both the single and married side of these struggles. I found myself more invested in 2 of the characters journeys (Candice Bergen and Diane Keaton) than the other two. The movie is very sweet.
